Art Defines Culture

We are Southern Appalachia's ARTSOUP:
Artists Reviving Their Society’s Original Universal Potential

Making and sharing art inspires individuals, bonds communities, heals societies, and lifts humanity to its highest potential.

When you support ARTSOUP, you become a vital catalyst for this process.

NEW! Because Mars Hill seems to be hibernating right now, we’ve decided to postpone our January and February classes and workshops until the weather is reasonable again and people feel like getting out of the house.

Hey, we get it! To quote Heather Coggins, our favorite pet portraitist, “I’m not ready to stop eating cheese on the couch yet.” So stay warm, keep your toes toasty, and check us out for wonderful classes, events, and workshops that will start when Daylight Savings Time does in March.

Meanwhile…to keep the home fires burning here on North Main Street in Mars Hill, we’re launching a bold yet cozy idea: Friday night parties we’ve dubbed Soup@TheSoup!

The idea is to put down the cheese for a minute, get off the couch, and cozy up to FREE hot soup and local bread on Friday nights starting Friday, Feb 20, at 6pm.

We have four themes so far that we’ll rotate through: art-related game night, dance party night, sketch book/coloring night, and open piano night.

So come meet your neighbors and bring your friends! No need to register, kids welcome.
